In 1996 The Wild Mohicans Mardi Gras Indian Tribe was founded by Big Chief Kentrell Watson Sr. who started masking in hand beaded suits at the age of nine.
Kentrell was a member of the Geronimo Mardi Gras Indians and the Golden Arrow Mardi Gras Indians. After spending time in each tribe Kentrell was given a blessing by his former Chief to develop his own tribe. And after a lengthy process the name Wild Mohicans was chosen.
The tribe consists of Big Chief Kentrell, second Chief Kentrell Jr, third Chief Trezhaun, and little Chief Tyshaun. Lest not forget his queens; His wife, Queen Zenda, first Queen Treshelle , second Queen Keshonne, and third Queen Ly-Shawnreal. The Wild Mohicans Tribe perform in New Orleans, throughout the US and Internationally with a sound that captures the hearts of many. Most notably, they perform at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, Freret Street Festival and the Bayou Boogaloo. In addition to their musical contributions they also conduct lectures at universities on their culture and heritage. Today, the Wild Mohicans tribe are still going strong.
